Cute Card Thursday - Festive Colors

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'Festive Colors'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

The image I chose this month from All Dressed Up Stamps is
'Christmas Hair Do'.

I colored the image using prismacolor pencils and added a few rhinestones to the baubles in her hair for a little bling.
I used paper from Simple Stories 'Handmade Holiday' collection, which matched perfectly to the colors of my image.
I added some bling and baker's twine from my stash for a quick and easy card.

We are sponsored this week by All Dressed Up Stamps, a great prize as always!
Hope you can join us! See you there!

Whimsy Stamps - Penguin Winter Adventure Tags

This is an older Whimsy Stamps set, but another cutie! This is Penguins Winter Adventure by the awesome owner Denise Lynn.

My daughter needed tags for all of her friends Christmas presents - and of they all had to be similar but in each of their favorite colors!!!
I stamped the penguins onto white cardstock using black tuxedo memento ink.
I then colored each one using my zig brush color markers (according to my daughters instructions!!) and fussy cut them out.
I used the stitched tag dies and the hand stitched nested rectangle dies to cut out the shaker tags.
I used the full tag for the bottom layer.
I used a fun foam sheet to cut the full tag (with a rectangle out of the middle) for the 'filler' layer.
I cut out a full tag from actetate for the next layer.
The final layer was cut out of white cardstock with the rectangle middle cut out.
All of these were glued together with Tombow Multi liquid glue - the sequins being added in between the 2nd and 3rd layers. These of course had to match the colors too!
I hand cut the banner name tags, popped the images up on from dots and added some matching baker's twine to finish them off.
Super cute and easy to make!

Don't forget the December deals too! These are far too good to pass up.

MFT Sketch #362 & Color challenge #82

It's been a while since I had the time to join in with My Favorite Things sketch or color challenges. I managed to get some time today to make a simple Christmas card completing both challenges!!!

I used the Polar Bear Pals stamp set to stamps the bears and colored them with my prismacolor pencils and zig color brush markers, matching the colors to the color challenge. I then fussy cut them out and popped them up on foam dots.
I cut out the circles from the white cardstock background and added the striped papers from MFT's Painted Prints Citrus 6x6 paper pack (using the cornflour and blu raspberry colors) behind.
The sentiment was stamped from the Bitty Bears stamp set, onto MFT's Country Flair Plaid 6x6 paper pad coral crush paper.
The background was then put onto a lemon chiffon colored card base.

I am entering this card into MFT's Sketch challenge #362:

As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

I used this adorable digital image from Whimsy Stamps - Penguin Saint Nick by Crissy Armstrong.

I colored the image using my prismacolor pencils and then fussy cut it out.
I used the Snow Flurry clear stamp set for the snowflakes on the background, matching the colors with my image.
The tags were cut using the Stitched Tag dies, held together with some baker's twine.
The sentiment was stamped from the Penguin Winter Adventure clear stamp set using black memento ink.
I used Echo Park's Winter Wishes papers from my stash.

MFT Blueprints Challenge - Holiday Tags - Part 2

Well, as usual, I always need lots of tags for the kids presents. Here are a few more tags I have made.

I used Die-namics Tag Builder Blueprints 5 as the base for my tags, decorating them with images from Jingle All The Way and Polar Bear Pals, colored with prismacolor pencils.
The Jingle All The Way reindeer was fussy cut out and made into a shaker tag - my daughters favorite! I used some mixed green sequins and added the handwritten green label.
For the Polar Bear Pals mini polar bear, this was also made into a shaker tag using fine white glitter (it doesn't show up too well on the photo).
I added some bakers twine and a small banner from the die set.
I love how these 2 tags have turned out, and I'm sure she will too!

MFT Blueprints Challenge: Holiday Tags

Well, as usual, I always need lots of tags for the kids presents. Here are just a few I have made.

I used Die-namics Tag Builder Blueprints 5 as the base for my tags, decorating them with images from Merry Christmoose (now retired) and Beast Friends, colored with prismacolor pencils.
The Merry Christmoose 'hot chocolate' tag was perfect for my son - he LOVES hot chocolate in the winter. I used the squares from the backs of my foam dimension squares to make it into a shaker card ('waste not want not' they always say! Lol!) I used a white gel pen to handwrite his name on the tag but of some reason it has turned pink, which I only noticed after I took this picture - I'll have to go over it again!
For the Beast Friends tag I kept the same 'hot chocolate' theme but added a Santa hat to him. I used some tissue paper over the bright candy striped paper on the background, just to dull it down a bit so the paper didn't overpower the image.
I love how these 2 tags have turned out, and I'm sure he will too!

I am entering these into the current Blueprints challenge - Holiday tags.

Whimsy Stamps & Kit and Clowder - Advent Calendar Day 6

Kit and Clowder are celebrating the countdown to Christmas every day on there Facebook page with giveaways and freebies from a variety of different companies. Today is the turn of Whimsy Stamps and Inspiration. They have a special free stamp + set of digital papers for you all!

Head on over to the Kit and Clowder Facebook page for all the details:

There is also another post, with a $20 voucher up for grabs!

Here is the card I made with this cute Penguin Elf by the awesome Crissy Armstrong.

I colored the image using my prismacolor pencils and then fussy cut it out. I added a bell and some gold stickles to the sentiment and image too.
I used the freebie sentiment sheet which I put into my silhouette studio and deleted all other sentiments. I was then left with the sentiment I wanted which I could then print out directly onto my background cardstock.
I used the smallest of the Hand Stitched Nested Rectangles dies from Whimsy Stamps to cut a hole in my cardstock and then inserted the red patterned paper (another freebie which I printed off) behind. I used a fine black pen to hand draw the stitching around the hole.
I added some bakers twine and bells for added interest and dimension.

I hope you all go and grab your freebies and I can't wait to see what you do with them!

Happy Crafting and have a great Christmas. x

Cute Card Thursday - Things with Wings

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'Things with Wings'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

I used this super cute stamp I found in my stash. I'm not sure of the brand but it is an old wooden block stamp from Michaels I bought years ago!

I used some Tim Holtz 'Worn Lipstick' distress oxide to add a little color to the plain background and then stamped the image on top.
I stamped the image with black memento ink and then heat embossed it with fine transparent embossing powder. I added a little stickles to the santa hats (difficult to see in this photo) and some white gel pen for a little dimension.
I added some patterned wash tape for a little color down the side, with some black and white baker's twine.
The sentiment tags and brad are from my stash (I think they may be simple stories).

We are sponsored this week by Star Stampz, a great prize as always!
Hope you can join us! See you there!

Cute Card Thursday - Stars

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'Stars'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

I used this super cute image from Bugaboo Stamps - Reindeer Blocks.

I love that these images are separate blocks and can be printed out as they are or manipulated as I have done.
I printed out the 3 reindeer blocks and colored them using my prismacolor pencils.
I didn't want the sentiment in a block for my design, so I put it into my Silhouette Design Studio and split it up and moved it around till I had it how I wanted it. I then printed it out on the background sheet.
The patterned papers are from my stash and I added a little hand stitching for interest.
As the theme for this challenge was stars, I added some circle and star sequins to the card to finish it off.

Anyone who follows me here or on Facebook, know I am OBSESSED with Crissy Armstrong's penguins at Whimsy Stamps. I decided to use them for the family gift tags this year. I have used the rubber stamp Penguin Candy Cane and the digital stamp Penguin Saint Nick from Whimsy Stamps.

I colored the images using my prismacolor pencils and then fussy cut them out.
The sentiments are from the Oh What Fun and In the Backyard clear stamp sets.
The enamel dots are from Whimsy Stamps Christmas Cheer collection.
I used papers and twine from my stash.
