ScrapbookSteals Mid Week Mojo - Jade #8

Here is today's sketch on the ScrapbookSteals.com blog:
The steal today was American Crafts Dear Lizzy 5th & Frolic Collection! I loved this collection so much I didn't know where to start! Here is my layout (the photograph was taken during my daughter's 9th birthday party last year):
 Here are some close-ups:
I'm loving the ruffled hessian strip that came in the collection - complete with the banner and buttons - they did all the thinking for me!
There are so many great chipboard pieces and tags in the collection too!
Hope to see you over on the ScrapbookSteals blog. You have until Monday 4th February 11.59pm MT to get your entries in.
Happy scrapping :-)

Scrapbook Steals - Mid Week Mojo Jade #7

Here is this week’s sketch over on the ScrapbookSteals blog. Hope you like it!
Scrapbooking inspiration sketch using MME The Sweetest Thing Honey Collection
And here is my layout:
My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing Honey Collection
I wanted to stay with a simple color combination for my layout so chose the pink, grey and white/cream papers. Even with all the patterns, the papers in the collection compliment and work well with each other. Here are some close up’s of my layout to show you how awesome the embellishments really are. You really don’t need to do anything else with them – they are all ‘ready to go’!
The layered stickers are so beautiful – they add great dimension to any scrapbook page.
Adding dimension and texture to scrapbooking layouts
I love the brads that come with every MME collection. They are all color coordinated and have other decorative elements which you can mix and match. I paired this with one of the label stickers just to give it a little more interest.
Adding dimension and texture to scrapbooking layouts
And lastly, I just LOVE the title cards. You need to do very little with them – I just popped this one up over the wrapped twine, and added some of the enamel dots to highlight it. So simple and quick to do, yet I love the effect!

I hope I have inspired you to create your own layout from this sketch!

This is the second challenge for January over on the Paper Secrets blog
Remember - this month there is a twist to the challenges!
Here is the sketch:
And the twist to this challenge is to use twine!
For my layout, I used Echo Park's 'Country Drive' collection along with blue twine. I rotated the sketch quarter of a turn anti-clockwise and replaced the clouds and embellishment cluster with water droplets. These were highlighted with twine around the edges.
I'd love to see you joining in the challenge for your chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the Paper Secrets shop.
See you over on the Paper Secrets blog!

Monday Craft Madness 8 - Scrapbook Steals

This week's challenge over on the Scrapbook Steals blog - the theme is VALENTINE's.
I chose to use the Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Lace Hearts for my projects. They are so versatile. There are 5 dies from 1″-5.8″ -  you really can make whatever you want!
The first thing I always have to make is a Valentine’s Day card for my loved one! I went plain and simple with my card, using the 1″ die to cut out 15 white and 1 red heart. Arrange them in a grid formation, add a simple rub-on sentiment, and voilà! A card in under 30 minutes!
Next I thought about all the gifts given out at school. I started with the teacher gift. This phrase (‘Mrs Kreuger rules’) is something my daughter often writes to her teacher on her the back of her work when she has finished!

And lastly – it seems they all have to give each other gifts too (this is so different from the UK!). Here are the gifts for the girls in her class (the boys gifts will appear on here sometime in the future!) – mini loveheart treat bags. The die cut hearts make the perfect labels!
I hope I have inspired you to start work on your Valentines projects this week.
You have until Thursday 31st January to get your entries in!
Just remember to have fun! :)
